Testing for Fun and Profit
My colleague Michelle Paul came across this site a few days ago and sent it around to the staff. Though I had seen it years ago, it still amazes me. It’s a whole site of nothing but A/B test examples and results.
Try the one on the front page: Look at the examples, submit your guess, and then see the answer…
Then look at the archive for more tests.
How many do you get right?
I think this pretty much makes the case for A/B testing. It’s clear that in many of the examples, small changes in layout or copy make a very big difference in results.
If you’re not doing this kind of testing as a matter of course, I hope this inspires you to give it a try.
