Patron Technology Presents Morning Kick-Off Intensive at Arts Reach - National Arts Marketing, Development, & Ticketing Conference

Patron Technology will present the first day’s morning intensive, Next Generation Strategies for Strengthening Your Patron Relationships, at Arts Reach National Arts Marketing, Development, & Ticketing Conference, March 16-18, 2012, at New York University’s Kimmel Center.
Patron Technology CEO Eugene Carr opens the March 16th intensive with a 9:00-9:30 a.m. session titled Trends of the Last Four Years: Arts Patrons on the Internet. Supported by data from an arts patron survey conducted every year since 2001, Mr. Carr will explore how arts patrons use the internet differently in 2012 than they did four years ago. He will cover how social media and the impact of smart phones have changed the way arts patrons interact with arts organizations and what arts managers need to do to use these tools most effectively.
Susan Lee, Chief Marketing Officer for the Nederlander Organization, headlines the 9:30-10:15 a.m. session speaking on Arts Marketing as Entrepreneurship: Optimize Your Organization for Success. Sharing her practical experience working on Broadway for building a sustainable brand with a limited budget, Lee will focus on entrepreneurship in the business of arts marketing and the opportunity for organizations to be innovative, authentic, and relevant in today’s rapidly changing marketplace. Participants will learn how to create new business partnerships, use branded content to broaden communication channels, and turn staff members into ambassadors in engaging existing patrons and developing new audiences.
The 10:30-11:15 a.m. session of the March 16th morning intensive is titled Patron Relationships at the Window: The Changing Role of the Box Office, featuring an interview with Linda Forlini, Director of Client Services at the New York Philharmonic. Ms. Forlini will share how the role of the box office has changed at the New York Philharmonic over the last several years and how her client services department is now more centrally involved with building patron relationships than ever before.
Patron Technology Product Manager Michelle Paul will conclude the kick-off morning intensive with an 11:20-12 noon Panel Discussion: Unlocking the Marketing Ideas of the Next Generation. Michelle will moderate a panel of young arts marketers discussing how they think arts marketing should work. Having grown up in the social media and digital world, this next generation of arts managers is poised to take charge, and the panel will share their particular successes actively implementing creative practices at their organizations and their ideas and dreams for the future. The panelists include Sarah Benvenuti, Fellow, Emerging Leaders of New York Arts; Jessica Duhlberg, Box Office Manager, Adelphi University Performing Arts Center; Katryn Geane, Marketing and New Media Manager for Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival; Adam Grosswirth, Membership Director, National Alliance for Musical Theatre; and Robert Gore, Program Outreach Coordinator, Theatre Development Fund.
