We Need Your Vote! - Part Two

Last week I posted here asking you to help us be eligible for the Chase Bank Main Street Grant competition. We needed 250 votes, and thanks to you we’re over the top now and we’ll see how we do in the next round. Though it may not surprise any regular readers, you know what worked the best in getting people to respond? Email marketing. Yup, with one email we doubled our votes within a few hours!

How, here’s the next thing I’d like to ask you to vote on. My colleague and co-author of Breaking the Fifth Wall: Rethinking Arts Marketing in the 21st Century, Michelle Paul, has applied for a spot on the Americans for the Arts’ Emerging Leaders Council. It’s an elected position, voted on by members of Americans for the Arts. Needless to say I’d like Michelle to have a seat at the table as the next generation of leaders begins to grapple with the problems facing our field. Please take a moment to click here to read her position statement pitch.

If you’re an Americans for the Arts member, you can then use this link to vote for her: http://www.artsusa.org/networks/emerging_leaders/about_us/council/voting/2013_election.asp

If you’re not a member… consider becoming one here. Americans for the Arts is the strongest voice in Washington and nationally to support the arts. And at minimum you should become a member of their Arts Action Fund, which is free. I have been a supporter for years, and hope you’ll join me.

Thanks.
