User Generated Content
When we think about the content for our organizations’ websites, I’ll bet most of us start out thinking we’ve got to write it. Although this article “Why User Generated Content Is the Future of Marketing and How You Can Master It” over promises a bit, it does hammer home its main point.
Yes, most arts organizations tell their patrons “turn off your cell phones” before the show starts for entirely defensible reasons. But why don’t we encourage the audience to take pictures during intermission, post comments after the show, give them access backstage and give them all sorts of other “post-worthy” experiences?
Though UGC may not replace all of marketing in the future, it’s definitely becoming a bigger and bigger part of it.
