There’s a time and place for browser bookmarks, but sometimes you just want to keep a collection of things that aren’t necessarily “bookmarkable.” For instance, maybe you collect recipes online, or perhaps you’re doing research for a long-term project. Do you ever come across a picture or article you find inspirational and want to save for future reference?

Evernote is a way to collect and capture anything on the Internet (and beyond). It’s like Microsoft Outlook for things you want to remember, organize, and track. It’s a little like Pinterest too, but useful for more than just images. Evernote works with any device that connects to the Internet, so you can access your collections on your phone, tablet, or PC. Best of all, you can create labels and tags for any item you save, plus everything is searchable.

It’s one of those tools you didn’t know you needed but after you use it, you can’t imagine life without it. Take a look at some of its features — and of course, it’s free, so try it out.
