Facebook’s Content Curation Tool

Today’s blog post is written by Natalie Sullivan, Marketing Assistant, Patron Technology.

Curating content for your organization’s blogs and social media outlets can sometimes feel a bit like a chore. You know you have to be posting constantly to maintain your online presence, but sometimes you hit a roadblock and need some help finding new and relevant things to write about.

This incredibly helpful blog post from Lab3Marketing, entitled “Facebook’s Not-So-Hidden Content Curation Feature,” sheds light on a great marketing tool that is right under your nose, your Facebook newsfeed.

Your Facebook newsfeed is essentially a content goldmine waiting to be scoured. There are a few steps that you will need to take first to really get the most out of this feature. Quoting the article, “First things first, you’ll have to populate your newsfeed with content. Finding and liking/following relevant accounts will fill your page’s newsfeed with quality, sharable posts.”

Once you’ve done this, you can start to filter through them and engage in your new community by sharing the quality posts that you find are pertinent to your organization and more importantly your patrons. I encourage you to read the full article and then take a couple of minutes to like and follow a couple of accounts. You might just find your new content curation machine will go to work immediately and you’ll wake up with a bounty of ideas to write about!
