PatronManager Certified Admins: Elizabeth Carsley & Joshua Veilleux
Today’s featured PatronManager Certified Admins are Senior House Manager Elizabeth Carsley and Box Office Manager Joshua Veilleux from the Lyric Stage Company of Boston.
We asked Elizabeth and Joshua some questions about their journey and current roles at their organization. Read on for what they shared with us.
What are your favorite PatronManager features?
Our favorite (and most-used) features are the Report Builder and the PatronManager Barcode Scanner app. The Report Builder is great because we can easily build and customize unique reports to track attendance, subscriptions, and all sorts of things that are specific to our organization. We also love the Barcode Scanner app (and Socket device) because it allows us to keep track of exactly who and how many people are entering the theater during our 30-minute seating period.
What is one feature of PatronManager that you were not aware of until you became Certified Admins?
One feature that we’ve become especially familiar with since becoming Certified Admins is the CRM Snapshot tool. CRM Snapshots are a new-favorite reporting tool for our organization because we have long standing relationships with many of our subscribers, donors, and guests. We recently began the subscription renewal process for our upcoming 2022/23 season, which means the Membership Renewals Snapshot is about to become extremely popular around here.
Has becoming a Certified Admin improved your ability to mentor and teach PatronManager to your colleagues?
Absolutely. Studying for the Certification Exam helped us to better understand both our Box Office operations and the operations of other departments. Since becoming Certified Admins, we’ve been building and pulling custom reports for Marketing, Development, and other Special Projects as well.
What have you accomplished since becoming Admins that you’re most proud of? Are there any unique PatronManager customizations that you have created and would like to pass on?
Overall, our greatest accomplishment of the season has been getting audiences back into the theater. Ironically we’re most proud of how smoothly cancellations were handled by the Box Office. This has been an exceptional (and unprecedented) year for the theatre community, and there were times when the show simply could not “go on.” The custom reports that we built in PatronManager allowed our team to personally get in contact with just about every single ticket holder for each canceled performance.
Which one of your organization’s events are you most excited about this year? (If you had to pick one…)
We are very excited for the first show of our upcoming 2022/23 season: Fabulation, or the Re-Education of Undine. Fabulation was originally slated for April of our 2019-2020 season and we are so happy the show will finally make it to our stage.
(We are also very excited for Sister Act next season – mostly because we love the movies.)
Which words or phrases do you most overuse or are known for saying?
We thought long and hard about this question. Some of our most-overused phrases of the season include (but are not limited to):
“That’s fabulous!”
“No problem!”
“Can I please see proof of vaccination?”
“Welcome home!”
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Our idea of perfect happiness is an empty Will Call box…meaning that every ticket was picked up at the Box Office and we are not expecting any late-seaters 🙂
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Last summer we both had the opportunity to travel to Honolulu, Hawaii – and we wouldn’t complain if we had to go back!
